Do I Qualify?
If you are pregnant, have just had a baby, are breastfeeding or have a child under the age of five, WIC might be able to help you.
WIC is for all kinds of families: married and single parents, working or not working. If you are a father, mother, grandparent or other legal guardian of a child under five, you can apply for your child.
You may qualify if you are:
- pregnant
- a breastfeeding mother (up to 12 months post partum)
- a post partum women (up to 6 months)
- an infant (birth to 12 months)
- a child under the age of five
- have a nutritional need (WIC can help you determine this)
- income eligible (household income at or below 185% of the federal poverty level)
- living in the state where you receive WIC benefits

How do I Apply?
It's easy, contact your State or local agency to set up an appointment or call the Growing
Up Healthy Hotline at 1-800-522-5006 to locate an agency nearest to you.
You will be asked to bring several items to your first appointment:
- Proof of residency
- Proof of income
- Identification
- Medical Documentation
- Your infant or child under the age of five
